Natural Skin Care: gorgeous and good for you

Cheer up January by giving yourself a day out!  Learn the craft of balm-making and cream-making to produce completely natural skin products.  This practical, empowering one-day workshop is a unique chance to transform your approach to skincare.  Work with professional herablists to learn the uses of wild plants and to formulate your own costmetics and create beautiful gifts.

We are all conscious of potentially harmfull ingredients in our cosmetics, and of the growing toxic load on the environment. For instance, cosmetics containing any of the following have harmful side effects:  formaldehyde, petrolatum triethanolamine, butylated hydroxyanisole, isopropyl palmitate, polyethylene glycol, phthalates, triclosan, parabens, synthetic musk, butylated hydroxytoluene.   It is important to reduce that load on our bodies by using products as free as possible from harmful chemicals, which can even be found in products made specially for babies.  There are real, natural alternatives to the lotions and creams on the market, and you can make them yourself.

90% of our ingredients are pure plants!  All of these have their own unique medicinal properties and actions.  As well as wild plant identification, you will learn how to transform these herbal medicines into beautiful skin care products that actively benefit the skin.

The day consists of a little bit of theory, lots of mixing and making, and some serious pampering.  We will be sharing our personal recipes and formulas, developed over ten years of making and selling our herbal products.  Take these home and experiment with your own range.

A perfect opportunity to make your own georgeous green gifts for family and friends this Christmas.  You will take away four products in their own little jars, and the ability to make more and to experiment.

Comments from participants:

I attended the natural skincare course last Sunday.  I had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed it.  Thank you, and your husband, for making it even more special.   The hospitality was so nice - and lunch was delicious!  I was quite entranced with Jude's tuition - I do hope I get to meet her again one day.  Sue M

Learnt basics, but will go away and have a good look around to find out more about natural products.  Thank you for a lovely day.

I really enjoyed today and would certainly like to come again.  Thank you Jude, I liked your open approach.  Anne and your partner, lovely hosts, many thanks.

Was very interested, would like to learn more.

Exceeded my expectations of the day.  The day was very well organised, covering several products without feeling rushed.  Introductions clear and simple.  Made to feel very welcome.  Catering and organisation absolutely excellent.  Will be back for other courses.

Lovely day and lovely teacher.

It was such fun making the balms, creams and masks to take away.  And distilling the lavender was something else!  It was all so incredibly easy, and cheap.

I hope the recipes (soup and cake) are on the website - absolutely delicious!

Excellent as always.  Carol W

Really enjoyed the day.  Very interesting and informative.  I look forward to trying out all the recipes and making some gifts for friends and family for Christmas.  Victoria G.
